New for 2017 is the 1 1/4 NPS (1.66" o.d.) pipe size (6061-T6XX alloy temper) as well as tees and corners to fit. This pipe is $3.00/ft in Mill Finish. The alloy is 6061-T6 and comes in 165" lengths. This pipe is available cut to length. The larger 1.5 NPS(1.9" o.d.) is available for $3.50/ft Mill Finish.
Re: 1 1/4 Pipe Some in the recreation industry mistakenly refer to this a 1 5/8" tube. The tube designation is misleading. A tube has a discreet wall thickness associated with its outside diameter. A pipe is designated by its hydraulic inside diameter and schedule. Each has its respective tolerance range. Normally ASTM B429 is the applied standard for aluminum. For fabrication, RowFrame recognizes the Aluminum Association for tolerances on fabricated components.
Shipping pipe is something to be reckoned with since the freight can be substantial. Pipe length is limited to 6 ft for postal shipping and 9 ft for UPS shipping. There is a premium applied to shipping the longer lengths by all parcel companies. Plan twice; cut once; splice pipe when appropriate.
The idea behind the weld fabrications below is to allow one to use 1 1/4" NPS pipe already in their posession. Perhaps you have an old frame and want to enalrge, modify or modify into a cat chassis. RowFrame offers modular universal fittings and weldments.
Raft Corner Fittings for 1.25 NPS Pipe
The above detail features TIG welded corners. This style of fabrication using custom extruded pipe to fit over the 1 1/4" NPS (1.66" o.d.) and yields welds that are geometrically stronger than welds performed on the substraight 1 1/4 pipe. The welds are full pen groove type for superior strength and asthetics. You wont find this workmanship on frames coming from the asian sub continent or the other third world components.
