CataRaft Fishing (Pesca) Chassis, Select What You Need; Not What They Want To Sell You
Dear Consumer,
What is a Fishing Frame?  There is no definition of a fishing frame that is universally accepted or understood.  The fact is, one doesn't need a frame to fish; merely patience and bait.  That being said, the following attempts to define those appurtenances deemed desirable for fishing.
1) Define what you are fishing for: Tarpon, Trout, Tuna, Dorado or my personal favorite, Marlin.  The selection of 1,4, and 5 favor catamarans for landing.
2) The rafting industry focus groups are exploiting your ignorance on the subject.  Therefore, starter packages are somewhat pricey.
Most will wind up in the landfill so choose a la carte.
3)  The basic components are: a) n bay frame for transmitting the rowing thrusts from the rower to the water, and b) potential floor components,
and c) potential thigh brace for standing without additional stabilizing features, and or d) fighting chair as well as restraints for larger fish,
and e) Potential frame extensions for motors, and f) other being user defined.

Marty Hamn Cat Chassis
Since good photos don't come around that often, introducing the Marty Hamn cat...his creation.  This pup was mounted atop a set of 12 ft fattys.  The fatty is a Maxxon creation.  I'm not one that normally pushes fereign boats but this one has potential.  Consider this tube at 3/8 of a psi for getting across Browns Park NWR at September flows.  Four of these tubes for negotiating the MFS with August flows.
The seat on this craft is a Mils_co.  Mils_co make mower seats.  This seat is available from Surplus Supply Lincoln NE ($50+-) and mounts atop a 13x13 flange available at RowFrame for $40.  Seats sometimes create a logistical issue as they complicate the space in the near vicinity.  If space is an issue, try a diamond plate bench seat.  Diamond plate bench seats will displace upper cross bars and may also be configured as a yoke for additional vertical stiffness in the cataraft chassis.
Some ask why I use the word chassis with respect to a cataraft.   Chassis and Struts are structural components.    Many first time fabricators do so out of economic necessity.  Generally they design their first chassis as a weighty mass far in excess of what they really need.  Some actually use steel because they read on the internet that steel is the material of choice.  The folks that recommend steel in a whitewater chassis want to dart your backside.  Know it for what it is.  Don't confuse steel with stainless steel.  One can create cat chassis from stress relieved thin wall stainless resulting in a low maintenance relatively light weight design that would make carbon envious.

When you met your wife, her former boyfriend didn’t have his name tattooed to her chest….  ….hopefully not (?).   Same logic for their raft frame label.  If your frame came with a label, remove it.    You know where you bought it from; you know their name; they havn’t a clue to your name.   Why are you carrying their label?  It doesn’t make you cool.  It only illustrates your passivity.  Why give them free advertising if they’re not paying you an annual dividend.  You put their name on your car….(?).

Child gangsters write their name all over things in the effort to gain a reputation.  It’s a relatively low form of human logic, right behind poop slinging.  Once you buy a raft chassis, it’s yours.  Note: The writer recommends Goo Gone or MEK for logo removal in a safe environment with appropriate ventilation and PPEs.
